ExperienceMitchell has represented business entities, municipalities and individuals in commercial, business and employment related litigation in state and federal courts around the country. Mitchell is also highly skilled in dealing with the unique legal issues and business opportunities which are often presented to minority owned businesses. In addition to his jury and bench trial experience, Mitchell has represented clients in arbitrations, mediations and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Mitchell possesses extensive and diverse experience in the employment law area. In addition to prosecuting and defending employment discrimination claims in United States District Courts, the EEOC, the Illinois Department of Human Rights and the Cook County Commission on Human Rights, Mitchell also provides general counseling to his clients regarding employee handbooks, policies and procedures and non-compete and non-solicitation restrictive covenants. Todd has spent the majority of his legal career counseling clients regarding real estate and business matters. Todd has provided counsel regarding the utilization of limited liability companies and other entities relating to the ownership and management of real estate and businesses, with an emphasis on asset preservation and liability protection. Todd also has extensive experience advising clients on issues related to the leasing and financing of real estate. Todd represents buyers and sellers in commercial real estate transactions, as well as landlords and tenants in leasing negotiations. Todd has facilitated multi-million dollar transactions, conducted like-kind exchanges (also known as IRS Code 1031 exchanges), and has closed on complex loan facilities on behalf of lenders and borrowers. As an extension of Josh's business law practice, Josh has experience in entertainment and intellectual property law. Josh regularly works with musicians, artists and designers to protect their work product, through entity formation, contract negotiations and copyright and trademark registration. In addition, Josh also focuses on the special needs of not-for-profit corporations. As a director of a not-for-profit, Josh not only has legal experience but practical experience as well in the formation and management of not-for-profit and tax exempt organizations. Corky regularly speaks on the business and legal aspects of feature film development and tax incentives in connection with the entertainment industry. ExperienceIn addition to representing numerous regional, commercial and community banks and commercial lenders in negotiating and drafting a variety of loan documentation as well as with workouts, mortgage foreclosures, and commercial litigation, Lisa is one of the few attorneys in the country who possesses extensive experience in the formation, grant application and certification of de novo financial institutions and Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), and provides regulatory and compliance advice to the firm's financial institution clients. She is seasoned in a variety of community development practices as they concern banking obligations and new market opportunities. Furthermore, while she has many large bank clients, Lisa has developed a focus over the years in addressing the diverse needs of smaller, community banks that serve niche, minority markets. The firm's clients include commercial banks and thrifts, mortgage and trust companies, loan funds, venture capital entities and non-traditional financial organizations. Lisa's practice has evolved with the numerous changes in the banking and lending industry, including the various consolidations that have occurred in recent years and the increase in compliance issues facing financial institutions today.
