We approach this aspect of our firm's practice by endeavoring to understand
the culture of the particular client's work environment and then tailoring
programs, policies, procedures, agreements,
etc., to the unique aspects of that environment. In all cases, we search
for preventative programs to aid in avoiding or at least being prepared, to
deal with human resource issues, and when immediate resolution of a problem
is not possible, we work with the client to facilitate the most cost-effective
means for bringing closure to the situation.

Representative Engagements
- Developed non-qualified deferred compensation plans using phantom stock and stock options.
- Representation of buyer in the negotiation, structuring, and financing of the acquisition of a multi-state brick and cut stone fabrication and distribution business and accompanying commercial real estate. The transaction included employment and/or consulting agreements and incentive programs as a means for retaining the owners of the purchased business.
- Represented an employer in negotiation of stock purchase option and deferred compensation agreements in an effort to encourage key employees' continued service with the firm.
- Presented seminars to businesses on important aspects of employment law, designed to avoid harassment lawsuits, what to do about complaints from employees, and steps to take addressing inappropriate behavior in the workplace.
- Defused a long-standing partner dispute enabling younger partner to buy out older partner wishing to retire, and thereafter provided ongoing legal services to the business.
